McNamara doubles aid to South Viet Nam in new plan
Defense Secretary Robert S. McNamara informed President Johnson of a strategy shift raising U.S. military aid to South Vietnam to 330 million dollars for the year ending June 30, up from 207 million. He announced expanded use of helicopters and combat air support and a force increase to 160,000. Family of accident victim hurt in two-vehicle crash
Frank Eaves remains in good condition after a farm accident north of Washington. His wife Charlene and three sons were injured in a second crash near Kalona Cheese Factory on Highway 1 when Viola Miller turned left into Raymond McIntyre’s southbound car. The total damage affected the Miller vehicle. no charges were filed. Injured McIntyre occupants were treated. all were en route to University Hospital Iowa City after visiting Eaves there.

Allies reveal Reds drop chaff over Berlin
Western Allied officials disclosed that Soviet forces released radar chaff over Berlin on Monday to hinder air traffic in the three east to west corridors. The protest at Berlin’s four power air safety center warned of danger to military and commercial flights while radar operators could still separate chaff from planes.
