Ottumwa man jailed for illegal gambling devices
Harold Ginsberg, operator of the Ottumwa Novelty Co., was sentenced to 60 days in Wapello county jail and fined 500 dollars after pleading guilty to illegal possession of gambling devices. Police raided the business, seizing four truckloads of punchboards and Numbers tickets valued at several thousand dollars. Judge H C Levis delayed commitment for 10 days to allow him to dispose of the business.

Night Club Owner Held on Three Charges in Iowa
Lester J. York owner of the 1010 night club in Sioux City was held under a 3350 bond after arraignment in justice court on three charges illegal transportation of liquor illegal possession of it and unlawful possession of cigarettes. He was arrested Thursday night at the junction of Highways 10 and 33 north of Alton as patrolmen found ten cases of whiskey with Minnesota seals and nine cartons of cigarettes in a 1941 coupe.
