Funeral services for Thomas Waddell 71 will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Halligan Funeral Home Davenport with burial in Columbus City Cemetery at 1 p.m. Waddell died at his Davenport home after living in Gladwin, born September 4, 1890 in Oakville. Survived by son Thomas W of San Jose, Calif, three Davenport daughters, and eight grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Fewer Liquor Permits Sold in Washington County

Washington County residents bought 1 636 liquor permit books in the current fiscal year, 197 fewer than seven months into the year last year. Rites at Richland For Mrs. Cheeseman 86

Mrs Isabel Cheeseman aged 86 died in Coral Gables Florida. Her body will arrive in Richland Monday for funeral Tuesday at Gould Funeral Home with burial in Highland Cemetery. She was born 1875 near Richland and married William Cheeseman in 1891. Survivors include two daughters a foster son a brother and several grandchildren.

Holy Land Easter Pilgrimage Draws Multinational Crowds

Thousands of Easter pilgrims from many lands walked the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem as Protestant and Catholic processions contrasted in timing and language. The two hour walk began at Antonia and ended in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre with Masses on Mt Zion and services in multiple languages.
