Orchestra Loses $600 in Car Crash
The Six Aces Orchestra was sideswiped by a trailer from an Oklahoma Contracting Co truck about two miles east of Ainsworth Saturday evening. About $600 in damage, mainly to saxophones, and a damaged car resulted but no one was injured. The collision occurred around seven oclock as the group rode to a Muscatine engagement. The big drum at the back remained undamaged. Mr and Mrs Lady Beston of Muscatine visited Clyde Pratt yesterday. Pratt then traveled to Davenport and will proceed to Clinton on business.

Checks Returned Saturday Night
Elder and Shannon report receipt of several post-dated checks taken from a desk at a office last Friday noon. The thief returned the checks Saturday evening under a table cover in the Doctors Mas son waiting room. A red yellow pink and green necktie remains at large. About 2800 people visited the Phillips and Stlebner drug store’s Saturday opening. The remodeled store featured new equipment and a wallpaper display room with wicker benches, new showcases, Kodak finishing gear, and mezzanine garden decorations. Holmes Iowa April 13 The Farmers Grain elevator here was destroyed yesterday causing a loss of 13000 dollars. Operator John Anderson reported seven thousand bushels of grain burned in the blaze.
