Two Hurt in North Marion Crossing Collision
Roy Zook and Nona Dillinger were nearly killed when their car was struck by a Rock Island locomotive at the North Marion Avenue crossing. They were taken to a physician for injuries, on their way to work at the American Pearl Button factory. Zook suffered head cuts and bruises. Dillinger endured a sprained back plus cuts and bruises.

O'Connor Memorial Service Set In Ainsworth
A memorial service for Private William Robert O Connor, son of Mr and Mrs Orie O Connor, will be held at the Ainsworth Methodist church Sunday afternoon. Rev O J Fix will preside. Funeral Services for Lt Edmondson Held at Local Home
Funeral services for Lt Hun ley R Edmondson were held yesterday afternoon at the L A Jones funeral home after his death in a George field airplane crash last Saturday in the southern line area. Rev Alfred Trenerry of the Baptist church conducted the services as hundreds attended. Pallbearers were Leon Beatty Post American Legion members Frank Carey Harry Simpson Fred Downing Deorce Birney Leland Carris and Charles Kennedy. The Legion led the funeral details with Sam Munsom in charge, a firing squad and honor guard of Legion members and Taps by Jesse Tradda at Elm Grove cemetery.

Birthday March 20 1945. He graduated from Ainsworth high school last May. He entered the army and trained at Camp Robinson Arkansas and Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. He was sent overseas last fall and earned the Bronze Star Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge. His parents Mr and Mrs O Connor received a letter from his commanding officer announcing his Christian burial with full military honors in Alsace Lorraine.

Representatives from nine federated clubs in Washington county attended a convention in the Community room of the YY yesterday. Mrs. A R Krause was elected county chair for the next term replacing Mrs. C P Weldin who held the post three years. The Nineteenth Century Fortnightly clubs hosted the gathering of Iowa Federated Women's Clubs. A cooperative luncheon was enjoyed at noon.
