Washington City seeks injunction dissolution over law firm stairs

City Attorney John Owen asks the District Court to dissolve a temporary injunction against removing or destroying a wooden stair platform at 210 W. Escape fumes while applying fertilizer

A Crawfordsville youth Ron Griffiths was hospitalized briefly and released after contact with anhydrous ammonia at Arvid Anderson’s farm near Crawfordsville. His brother Mark Griffiths operated the applicator when a hose snapped. Sohiger Co. of Wyman arrived to shut off the valves.

Udall and Jackson seek pivotal gains in two states

Washington High FBLA earns state honors at UNI conference

Washington High School Future Business Leaders of America members earned state honors at the FBLA Leadership Conference at the University of Northern Iowa Cedar Falls. Chris Gaffey elected state reporter Teri Yerington won top and runner up placements Kathy Schantz named to Who's Who and won multiple places The local chapter placed fourth for the Lloyd V. Douglas Award Other students earned honorable mentions including Stephanie Beliel Joy Martin and Vicki Waggoner.

Stewart School Spring Fling features student performances

Stewart Elementary School in Washington hosts its annual Spring Fling at 7 30 p m Thursday. Principal John Sproule notes girls P E students perform modern exercise and dance under Julie Sommers, boys P E students present gymnastics with Gary Swenson, and a K 6 art exhibit by Linda Jones students. The Stewart Boosters Club will hold its final meeting of the year and elect officers for 1976 77 during the event.

Time Capsule Group Sets April 13 Meeting

Paul V. Shearer chair of the Washington County Bicentennial Time Capsule Project calls committee members to a meeting on Tuesday April 13 at 8 p m at the YMCA in Washington. A vote will decide whether the time capsule is buried for 50 or 100 years.

Murder trial of Jerry Mark postponed to May 10
