Reverend Richard Pengilly longtime pastor of the Methodist Church in this city will leave this week or next to oversee the church in Albany Green County for the coming year. At the Ashland conference last week appointments were set for the district leaving no local service next Sunday.
Farmers in the city report T now has possession of the Jen sen livery stable and will run it as a feed barn for farmers and others. Rev John Gibson of Odanah and his son Dr Albert Gibson of Park Falls visit the John Gibson and John Page homes. Dr Gibson may move to Lexang s son. Rev Robinson seeks Congregational Church pastorate. Theo McMonagle moves family into Goodnough residence east Bayfield Street. The Hackers hosted Camp Royal campers with a generous supper. Congressman J Adam Bede loses Minnesota eighth district nomination to Clarence Miller. the Duluth News Tribune is criticized for inconsistent support of Jenkins and Cannon.
Miss Martha Severson daughter of Mr and Mrs A B Severson wed George Ogren son of Mr and Mrs Gust Ogren in a ceremony at the bride’s parents home. Rev Chr Kristianson officiated with Miss Lisa Severson as bridesmaid and Christ Saxhaug as groomsman. They will reside in the Davidson residence on Fourth Street.
Washburn managers push to host Odanah for a return game next Sunday with strong lineups. Odanah plans to reinforce to defend its title as a large crowd anticipates a top matchup between the two teams.
Veronica Burlager and George Girezic wed at St. Louis Catholic Church Tuesday morning with Rev. William Slisska officiating. George Gucinski served as groomsman and Victoria Klock attended the bride. A large reception followed at the parents’ home, with many friends in attendance. the couple plans to reside in the city.
R A Hering attends the Northern Wisconsin fair in Chippewa Falls this week and spends several days visiting with his parents.
A massive blast at the DuPont powder plant four miles south of town destroyed Neutralizing House No 2. Foreman Gordon Weber was killed, Superintendent Frank Beers badly injured but alive, and windows shattered across town as fires raged and ravine infrastructure were demolished. Medical crews rushed to the scene and Beers was transported to Ashland for treatment. the plant aimed to resume operations soon.
A northern Minnesota town of about 1500 people, Grand Marias, is reported to be out of danger as forest fires rage across the region. Dr Hicks and Lien families are mentioned, with locals noting that wind direction could still threaten the town. Included are local notes on Arbor Day poll results and a school vote listing the trailing arbutus as a candidate among four flowers.
In a dramatic Sunday matchup at the local diamond, Odanah toppled Washburn six to five after a tight game led by Lien on the mound. Odanah built an early lead while Washburn faltered with a costly ninth inning. a large crowd saw the visitors claim the victory.

Mrs Nels Swensen and daughter of Mason were in the city Saturday visiting at the Severson home. Mr and Mrs Peter Knudson of Mason visited at the Severson residence Saturday. The Ladies Aid Society of the Congregational Church plan a Chicken Pie Social early next month. This is a pretty good time to keep your chicken coops closed up.
