Patterson Leaves for West Plant Superintendent Post

C A Patterson of E I duPont de Nemours Powder Co has been promoted to Superintendent of the California plant near San Francisco. He left Monday night to assume duties and plans to move his family later. F T Beers of Wilmington appointed Superintendent of the Barksdale plant and left for the east, to return in about three weeks.

Methodist Church Notes and Town Club Sermon

Presiding Elder F. M. Haight will hold the second Quarterly Conference at the parsonage Saturday evening March 28 at 7 30 and will preach next Sunday morning and administer Communion. Wants a Side Tract Layfette Stow Sues NP Railway

Farmer Layfette Stow of twelve miles from the Northern Pacific sues to force a new siding for loading about 100000 feet of lumber and to ship wood to the city. Testimony before H P Axelberg notary public was taken and will be sent to Madison for the state railroad commission ruling. Witnesses testified on both sides. NP argues Enderline siding suffices within a mile and a half.

Hosmer Bound Over In Washburn Town Funds Case

A. H. Hosmer former Washburn town chairman waived examination in Municipal court and was bound over to the circuit court on charges of unlawfully using $50 of town funds. Bonds set at $200 were furnished promptly by sureties.

Lovelands Visit Brings Land Buyers to County

Mr and Mrs T A Loveland arrived from Minneapolis Tuesday evening and will stay several days. Loveland brought three Minneapolis land buyers whom he located on land owned by the Love Land Co. New settlers will start building homes and clearing land at once. Prospects look bright for a prosperous summer in the land business and many plan trips to the county.

Timber transfer on Outer Island to Wausau company

D M Maxcy transfers all timber on Outer Island of the Apostle group to Outer Island Lumber Co for 37000 dollars. Timber to be logged periodically and manufactured at Chequamegon bay mills. Maxcy had earlier bought the seven thousand acre island from the Pike estate for 50000 dollars. Kreutzer and Bird of Wausau represented the buyer.

City settles delinquent tax roll with county treasurer

City Treasurer O A Lamoreaux turned over the delinquent roll to the County Treasurer in a Monday settlement. The total delinquent roll this year is 7265.24 with 2126.25 in collection and payable to the city, 1850.04 to the county, and trance retained by a city. Form Circuit Meeting For Catholic Foresters In Ashland

The chief Rangers and deputy High chief Rangers of the Catholic Order of Foresters from Ashland Washburn Bayfield Superior Hurley Millen Butternut Glidden Medford Iron River plan to form a Grane Circuit in northern Wisconsin. They will meet in Ashland next Sunday to establish a grand gala day held annually. The 24th of May, marking the order’s 25th anniversary, is likely for the first event. The host town for the meeting will be decided later.
