The council license committee has granted fifteen of nineteen liquor license applications for the coming year, with several saloons already operating seeking renewal and three or four new entrants. Licenses issued to William Burns, John Donahue, Warren Bennett, Peter Score, Louis Holte, Octave Huppey, Alex Erickson, Andrew Murray, Carl Westlund, Ed Bergen, Louis Wardner, Chas Nelson, Ed Jackson, John Overby, and Jos Schlitz Brewing Co. not yet acted on are Henry Murray, John Bork, Gjert Gjertson, Fred Leveaux. Several location changes planned for Donahue in Capitol, Murray in Club, Gjertson in Hoel building, and Schlitz saloon near Omaha depot.

Mary Larson of this city married Joseph Kittleson of Stoughton Wisconsin on Tuesday afternoon at the groom’s home in Stoughton. Albert Larson, brother of the bride, served as a groomsman. Lumber firms form road improvement group in Chippewa Falls

Fourth of July plans in Washburn turn flying exhibit costly
The Washburn celebration committee sought a flying exhibition to mark Independence Day. Fred T. Yates unsuccessfully pursued local aviators after learning the cheapest bird man was paid four thousand dollars for a single flight. Despite the setback, the committee vowed air ships and balloons for the event. Separately, work on the Lien building advances toward early occupancy, with stone work largely done and plastering underway. Calder, Runkley, and Buzard returned from Antigo after Beaver Reserve convention. Chippewa Falls will host the next gathering.
