John Hanson Harvests First Hay Crop on East Third Street Lot
John Hanson reports cutting his first hay crop on his one and a half lot on East Third Street, yielding a ton and a half of clover from about a quarter of an acre. The clover was thick and tall, with unusually fine grass. He plans a second crop at two thirds yield, about ten tons per acre. Last year oats on the same land fed three cattle until New Year’s. The grass covered the ground so densely there was no room for all of it, and fences and shade trees were used to spread it for drying.

Damage suit over fish offal dumping in Bayfield
Chas Hendricks sued John Egan for 100 dollars in a case before Justice L N Clausen. It alleges Egan hauled fish offal from the Bayfield packing house and dumped it on Hendricks land about a mile and a half from town, damaging the land. About twelve witnesses testified. no decision reached yet.
