A plan is announced to manufacture dynamite and other explosives at a facility described as the most complete of its kind in the United States, potentially the world. The project aims to establish a premier plant facility with extensive production capacity and advanced processes.
Articles of incorporation filed in Madison reveal Atlantic Manufacturing Company to produce explosives including dynamite with a 500000 dollar capital. Washburn officials plan 43 buildings, an extensive safety plant, nitrate and sulfuric acid works, power station, tramways, and two miles of railroad sidings. Estimated labor 175 to 200, with local contractors urged to submit bids.
