Second Arrest On Liquor Charge In Ashland County
Adolph Nolander of Barksdale was arrested again for liquor offenses in Ashland County after Sheriff Kleinsteiber transferred him from Bayfield County to the county jail. An Ashland officer nabbed him at Union Depot on New Year Day with liquor in his pocket. he fled to Bayfield County. Nolander claims he bought the bottle for a sick relative and denies selling liquor. The case was continued next week. Earlier, Nolander and his father were jailed for transporting liquor and selling it. they were fined by Judge Risjord and had prior Bayfield County bootlegging convictions with fines.
