Stefinski Narrowly Escapes Freight Train Collision
Levi Stefinski narrowly escaped serious harm when his coal hauling sleigh was struck by a freight train at the depot crossing. He was thrown from the sleigh as the horses crossed the track and the sleigh was dragged about twenty feet before the train stopped. The rear of the sleigh suffered severe damage but the driver and team escaped without serious injuries.

Soldier Fred Arseneau’s Body to Return Home
Telegram from the Graves Registration Service says Private Fred Arseneau, son of Mr and Mrs Frank Arseneau, will arrive in Brooklyn January 14 and be brought to Woodland Cemetery for a military funeral. He died of influenza aboard a transport crossing the Atlantic.
