Bayfield County to Exhibit at Northern Wisconsin Grain Show
Bayfield County farmers will send one hundred pedigree seed grain exhibits to the 4th Annual Northern Wisconsin Mid-winter Grain Show in Spooner January 4 to 7. Grain includes oats wheat barley peas and corn from Port Wing Washburn Iron River Mason and Ashland areas. Grain judging will involve teams from counties with prizes for winners. Farmers urged to attend by January 3 or 4 and ship from Washburn on December 31.

Lois Catherine Johnson 11 Month Twin Dies of Pneumonia
Lois Catherine Johnson, age 11 months and three days, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Johnson of West 5th Street, died Tuesday evening after a two day illness from pneumonia. Funeral held Thursday at 2 PM from the family home with Rev. Christiansen. interment Woodland Cemetery beside her grandparents. Born January 30 1921, she had been frail since birth, but many described her as bright and loving, and the family and friends mourn her loss.

Pearson to join Gerlinger Electric Steel Casting in Wis
Sid Pearson plans to begin work after the new year with the Gerlinger Electric Steel Casting Company of West Allis Wisconsin and will oversee northern Wisconsin. Close Call in City Hall Fire Under Wash Basin
