Bayfield Night Party Raid Ends With Three Arrests
Three men armed with two revolvers and a handgun led a late night escape from Bayfield in a lit up Nash touring car. Bayfield officers pursued them to Washburn and, aided by Sheriff’s deputies, captured the trio who faced charges for speeding without lights and pointing a loaded weapon. Cooper and Goetzenberger pled guilty with fines while the case against Irving Greer is noted as continued.

Cattle Epidemic Spreads in North Wisconsin Counties
The hemorrhagic septicemia outbreak, first reported in Barron and Marathon counties, has reached Sawyer county and threatens Bayfield. Vets and farmers are burning carcasses and vaccinating remaining cattle. No cure exists after infection. farmers urged to isolate affected herds and notify authorities promptly. Sawyer county reports over fifty cattle lost in a few days.
