Chief of Police Charles Brunner serves notice to gambling house keepers to cease operations at once with a grace period to move out possessions. Saloons ordered to stop music immediately. violators face arrests.
Fenrick Riley and Marguerite Daly were married at St. Louis Catholic Church in an early morning ceremony. The couple planned a honeymoon train to St Paul after, while Riley will work west with the Weyerhausen syndicate on locating a timber tract. Daly will finish teaching in Washburn before joining him.
A report claims gamblers offered a Washburn town board member a $300 payment and $20 monthly protection from police. If true, it shows the town chose a backbone leader and demands prosecuting those who attempted to corrupt officials.
Arnt Grayrock and Carrie Wangberg married last Saturday at the Norwegian Lutheran church in a ceremony performed by Rev. C. Michael. A large reception followed at the Masonic hall. The couple will reside in Washburn and begin housekeeping immediately.
