Miss Evelyn Erickson 22, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Erickson of Jamestown, was killed instantly Sunday morning in Buffalo when the automobile she rode in overturned after a collision. Reverend Carl Jacobson attended the funeral of Reverend John August Rinell on Sunday afternoon in Frewsburg. Reverend Lawrence F. Nordstrow was in charge, assisted by Reverend Jacobson and other Lutheran pastors from the area.
Twelve coal cars derailed on the Pittsburgh and Shamat road near Smethport delaying passenger and freight traffic for more than ten hours. Officials cited a defective rail that caused adjoining rails to shift, disrupting service and causing the wreck.
