New Bridge at Red House to Improve Allegany River Route
Salamanca August 28 The State Highway Department will improve the scenic Allegany River road from Salamanca to Red House next year. A new concrete six and three quarter mile route with a bridge over the Allegany River at Red House will extend Broad Street to the river road. The project includes a short spur to the Big Red House valley and park headquarters on reservation land. Construction may start next spring with completion expected next summer, using state and federal funds.
