The prisoner Charles Henry who escaped from Market street jail earlier faced a possible permanently stiff knee after a 25 foot fall. Henry pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon and was fined 100 dollars and sentenced to 100 days in the county workhouse. Sorvelli pleaded guilty to liquor law violations and received a 200 dollar fine and four months in the workhouse. Henry will not begin his jail term until arriving at the workhouse and officials sought to patch the window grate to prevent future escapes. A resident telephoned when Henry was found groaning after a fall on the court house steps.
