Pulled to surface with the help of an air hose and rope he faced a crowd of 10 000 as volunteers freed him. He regained response and was taken to City Hospital for treatment with electrical therapy and nourishment. The rescue halted fears of a fatal cave in with his arm partially paralyzed but expected to recover.
