The Olmsted Boy Scout camp opened on July 11 and runs until August 8. Each week about 75 Scouters participate along with leaders and staff. Staff directors include Bob Bannon Nature Clark Wright Aquatics and Jack Binney General Program. Camp cooks are Euelah Olsson and Amy Pierce.
An Original Pageant depicting episodes from the life of Chief Cornplanter will be enacted by the Campers at Camp Olmsted on Saturday July 24 at 7 30 p m. Byron W Knapp and Henry O Walker stage the event. A Swedish Smorgasbord picnic supper will be served with both Swedish and American dishes. Admission is 1 00 for adults and 60 cents for children. A pilgrimage to Cornplanter’s grave and a wreath placing by Cub Scout Scout and Explorer leaders will honor the Chief.
