A Friday morning ammonia plant explosion at Eclipse Oil Works near Franklin sparked a large fire risking the refinery, injuring Lloyd O'Neill. Flames spread to the riverbank coating the water with oil and reaching a 25 000 barrel tank before fire crews contained the blaze.
Mrs R F Day of Buffalo visited Bradford then Austin flood ruins. The car traveled fast and fell from an embankment at Wrights Corners five miles from Port Allegany. Chauffeur Clarence Weintz of Toledo Ohio died. Passengers Agnes Wharton Miss May Hall Mrs E E Hall Agnes Day and John G Wharton injured. They were taken to a Port Allegany private hospital.
John G. Wharton of Bradford Pa died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Port Allegany on Sunday afternoon in which the chauffeur was killed. His body was brought to Bradford for funeral arrangements.
Madrid reports Premier Canale ras announces operations against the Riffs are suspended due to bad weather in Morocco. Newspapers view this as government reluctance to continue the campaign and foresee a possible cabinet resignation. The Manana is suppressed for publishing an article insulting France.
New York Oct 14 Independents tobacco dealers represented by Louis Brandeis filed in the United States circuit court to be heard on the American Tobacco disintegration plan. The court granted them right to present objections at the hearing Monday Oct 39 and to file briefs before it begins. They call the plan fundamentally defective and harming competition and the interests of independent dealers and the country.

Los Angeles October 19. Disaster halted Robert C Fowler's attempt to begin a transcontinental flight from Los Angeles after a preliminary hop. On descent the right skid broke and canvas tore from the biplane. He hoped to repair and start last evening but failed. Start date remains indefinite.
In Norristown on October 19 thirty boiler shop workers at John Wood Manufacturing in Conshohocken walked out after a 10 percent wage cut that went into effect last week. The strike shut the plant, impacting over 500 workers and raising fears of broader stoppages at Alan Wood Iron and Steel and J Wood & Bros. plants that could affect more than 2,500 employees.
Eugene A. Arnold of Warren and C. H. Thomas of Columbus were in a car struck by a fast train at a Hocking Valley crossing. Thomas died Sunday at Protestant hospital. Arnold survived with injuries and was expected to recover. The gates were down late and the crossing layout hid the train’s approach.

A Rochester mother awoke to her two children, a 20 month old and a six week old, when the older child spilled milk and waved a bottle. The bottle struck the infant’s right temple, causing instantaneous death.
A head on crash near Fort Crook Nebraska involving the Missouri Pacific two trains killed eight passengers and fatally injured six others while twenty more were hurt. The northbound St Louis River and a southbound freight collided within a half mile of the Fort Crook military post and near the bar racks.
Former Spanish prime minister Lopez Dominguez is reported dead in Madrid at age noted in the dispatch. The obituary confirms his service as head of government and notes the date of death as October 19.

He is held under surveillance and likely to be jailed once recovered.
Gust Ohrn of Columbus nearly died last Saturday after taking medicine from the wrong bottle. A physician used the stomach pump and he is resting comfortably. Dr Bennett believes he will recover.
