The Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania Independent Order of Odd Fellows reports state membership at 111 478 with a net gain of 4 527 for the year. The state has 1 106 working lodges and 10 373 initiations with 693 deaths and 1 527 suspensions. The Rebekah branch lists 245 lodges and 15 287 members a net rise of 1 268.

Sechrist Street Placed on Borough List in Warren
At last Monday’s Borough Council meeting Sechrist street was formally accepted from Pine to Morrison. The council also passed several ordinances on first and second readings and authorized a new map of Greater Warren by Boro Engineer Capt Wheelock. The fire committees received $100 each, Riverside Hotel repairs were ordered, market and hay scale revenues were noted, a South street house sale was reported at $350 to Eli P Kyler, and Sewer Committee bids were authorized for new sewers. An adjourned session was held last night to review additional ordinances.

Foreman Michael Shea Takes Own Life at Newton
Michael Shea a section foreman for the D A V and P railroad at Newton near Grand Valley killed himself early last Tuesday morning by cutting his throat with a razor. He was found by his wife in an outbuilding unconscious and died before a doctor arrived. He was about 40, in poor health and had been drinking heavily recently.
