The Tuesday municipal election sparked strong interest with fierce races in Seventh and Eighth wards. Results show T. O. Hazen winning in the Seventh over Charles B. Johnson and Frank G. Schuler defeating J. W. Kendall in the Eighth.
Fire last Friday at the Cornplanter Oil Works occupied the fire department from 6 to 8 o'clock with damage estimated around 700 dollars. Firefighters faced a lengthy run as flames consumed part of the still and prompted emergency response from local crews.
On February 14 1910 W R McKinney and W S Pittman who ran the Mail Publishing Company sold their interests to J A Larson and S M Sloan. The buyers take possession and form the Mail Printing Company. The note recommends the new firm to former subscribers and patrons and thanks them for support.

The Rev. Cortlandt Whitehead, bishop of the Pittsburgh diocese, arrived back from New York and denied a Grace Church sermon report urging readers to abstain from newspapers during Lent. He called the report a fabrication and said such a statement would be untrue.
Franklin Pa February 11 1910 Joseph C Sibley appeals to electors of the 28th congressional district to serve again in Congress. He asserts his tenure benefited farmers manufacturers wage earners and oil producers, details staff support pension work and prompt replies, and says his actions were for the public welfare not personal gain. The notice concludes with a continuation on page 8.
