Stoneham Woman Burned to Death in House Fire
Mrs. Mahalia Morgan, 70, died when flames swept through her son Edgar Morgan’s Stoneham residence last Friday morning. Neighbors reported smoke from cracks before H. P. Riddlesberger forced entry as the frame house burned to ashes with remains found in the kitchen near the stove. Edgar Morgan, away at work, grieved upon learning his mother’s fate. she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Seymore Jones of Clarendon and Mrs. Fred Smith of North Warren.

Runaway Fatality Ends Life of Russell Resident Bachop
William J. Bachop of Russell died Monday from injuries suffered in a runaway about five miles east of town last Thursday afternoon. Born January 18, 1852 in Allegheny Pennsylvania he lived in Warren County most of his life. He married Minnie A. Cummings in 1882 and leaves a wife a son Frank a daughter Rae and two sisters Mary Bachop and Mrs. A. O. Briggs. Funeral held Tuesday at 2 PM from his mother's home south of Russell with interment in Russell cemetery.

Two Million Feet of Lumber Lost in Mill Yard Fire
A blaze at Salmon Lumber Company's upper yard near Kellettville destroyed two million feet of lumber valued at 50 000 to 60 000 dollars. The fire, started by sparks from a burning slab pile, spread overnight with no insurance. Forest County lumberman T D Collins owned the property. Firefighters from Warren and Sheffield aided, arriving by 8:30 a m and halting the flames by noon, saving the mill structure as wind pushed the fire away.
