Ri d g w a y Pa April 25 The worst fire in half a century tore through the Hyde Murphy Company wood working plant at Broad and Race streets. Four fire departments fought the blaze aided by out of town units. Losses include the Hyde Murphy building 250000 and many stores and residences in the Race Street Main Street area. Recovery and rebuilding planned.

Robbery at Corry Hotel Stuns Night Clerk
A hold up at the Commercial Hotel in Corry occurred Friday night between 1 and 3 60 o clock. About $15 in cash from the drawer and several boxes of cigars and bottles of whiskey were taken. Night Clerk Garret Bensink says three well dressed men entered seeking lodging. One struck him a severe blow, rendering him unconscious. He awoke to find his gold watch and cash missing along with cigars and whiskey. A party at the passenger station was pointed out as a suspect but the lead did not pan out. The prevailing theory is the clerk slept through the incident.
