William Gray, superintendent for Anchor Oil, escaped a fatal blast when a boiler exploded while he arrived at the Parmlee hillside boiler house. Gray, badly burned son of Governor Schnyder, and other workers were affected as gas explosions damaged Roger's Island wells.

Warren’s Oldest Citizen Stephen Carver Dead at 81
Stephen Carver one of Warren’s oldest citizens died at 1 20 am Wednesday at age eighty one. He helped open High Street from a clay swamp and built the Carver House hotel. He and his brother Joseph boosted Warren’s growth through lumbering ventures and real estate on the Carver farm. He was buried in Oakland Cemetery.

Christmas Letter for You Mission grows in England and Warren county
The Christmas Letter Mission, once the Hospital Pillow Mission, began in Brighton eleven years ago and has since distributed 230000 letters in England during last Christmas. It aims to give printed Christmas letters with cards to hospitals prisons homes and individuals bearing A Christmas Letter for You. In Warren county last year about 250 letters reached the Hospital for the Insane 40 to Rouse Hospital and prisoners in the jail. The work will resume this fall by suggestion of Mrs C K Ingles Philadelphia. Interested helpers should contact Mrs W D Brown Warren county secretary before December 1. Small donations up to 1 are welcome and will be used to buy letters with any surplus sent to the central fund.
