Tramp killed at Union City while boarding eastbound freight

Lawn Party at Lacy Grounds Raises Funds
One of the region's most successful lawn parties was hosted by the Weeman's Christian Temperance Union at Mrs Lacy's lawn. The miniature garden was decorated with bunting flags and illuminated by gas and Chinese lanterns. Supper was served outdoors and the grounds stayed crowded from early evening until nearly midnight, yielding a handsome sum for the Union.

Hendricks Meets With An Accident In New Haven
Vice President Hendricks and Professor Waland were in a carriage when a runaway team collided with them in New Haven on June 24. A hind wheel came off and Hendricks was thrown partly from the vehicle but escaped injury. The other carriage continued on.
