Rescue at sea reveals steadfast Mrs Drave aboard derelict brig
In 1873 Austrian taxidermist Drave and Captain Tromp sailed from Cape Verd islands to Brazil with a cargo of dyewoods. A collision with an English bark left the Trompf abandoned. Mrs Drave slept through the crisis, later signaling distress. After sixteen days adrift, rescuers found the derelict brig and brought crew and Mrs Drave to Fogo island.
