Red Cross first aid push eyed for mining injuries
Figures compiled from U S Bureau of Mines and other sources show about three in ten thousand miners are killed annually. Non fatal accidents occur far more often with no firm totals. Emphasis on prevention through safety and on rapid post injury care, with Red Cross first aid training already widespread, could save lives. The Red Cross seeks support through its annual roll call November 11 to 24, with one dollar memberships urged.

Snowstorm Mines Consolidated to Resume Operations at Troy
Snowstorm Mines Consolidated plans to resume production at its large lead silver zinc property near Troy Montana after about a year idle. A stockholder in Spokane says resumption follows higher lead prices and lower costs. The mill capacity is 400 tons daily and 125 men could be employed at maximum output. Leo Greenough, president and general manager, is at Troy overseeing the restart.

Hilarity drift shows steady improvement, stockholder reports
George Steward, an original stockholder in Hilarity Mining and now a major holder in Pine Creek Mining and Milling, visited the Hilarity ground with manager H W Ingalls last Monday. He returned with ore samples from the drift face and noted a steadily improving showing as depth increases.
