Oil prospects guided by Bonneville Caribou survey
Two Idaho geologists completed four months of field work in eastern Bonneville and northern Caribou counties assessing petroleum potential. They report abundant reservoir rocks and two thirds marine-origin sediments, with several domes suitable for oil and gas trapping and strong groundwater evidence. Findings will be issued in a forthcoming Geological Survey bulletin.

Power for Hill Company Plans for Air Power Installed
Hill Mining officers consider installing air power for machine drills at the Hill tunnel. Surveys estimate pine line cost from North Bunker Hill power plant about 2000 feet. Lead Tlossom property equipment available. estimates to be taken on both plants. Development under Thomas Rowland shows progress despite hard Burke quartzite. Tunnel depth increases as it enters the hill, with power aiding quick reach to surface workings where lead and silver values were found.

Paper From Bananas Refuse
Banana tree stems with fruit removed are crushed to reduce moisture from 90 to 55 75 percent. A pulping unit turns the mash into pulp and juice, which is reboiled and beaten. Fibrous material is removed by a beater, and no chemicals are used in the process.
Copper Used to Preserve Rope Weighs Less and Costs Less
Copper embedded in oil serves as a rope preservative, replacing tar. Marine pests no longer damage the rope, as the copper treatment prevents decay. The copper option bulks less, reduces weight, and lowers application costs compared to tar.
