Outlook for Zinc Uses of the Metal
An affiant describes flotation as a major metallurgy advance treating about 30,000,000 tons of ore yearly in the United States. Tests on Star mine ore suggest profitable zinc content around 6.97 to 7.41 percent with lead 1.57 percent and silver 1.86 ounces. Zinc uses span galvanizing, brass production, roofing, plumbing, pigments, tires, and other alloys. electrolytic zinc could compete with U.S. producers in Coeur d’Alene. Demand is rising as copper mines close, and zinc markets, while quiet now, are expected to grow.
