Leasers at Argentine Nearing High Grade Ore Shipment

The rejuvenation of the Argentine mine is rapidly progressing under Rush J. White and a team from Wardner and Kellogg. Assays of 90 to 120 ounces of silver per ton were reported from a shoot 10 to 12 inches thick, with a full mine carload of gray copper ore expected to run over 100 ounces to the ton and a shipment planned soon two miles west of Wallace with railroad loading spur access.

A. G. Buchman of Butte returns from Sunset mine with the final load of equipment including hoist and pumps. Senator W. A. Clark owns the property and no further shaft development is planned. Snow covers Sunset peak as work closes. Portland group west of Sunset shows ore, hinting at deep development via crosscuts from existing workings.

Will Not Resign Dr Magee Keeps Public Service

Dr L Magee city health officer of Venice will not resign his post in the Coeur d Alenes. He notes he spends 250 dollars on epidemics investigations to earn a 50 cent federal field epidemicologist salary. He aims to save the 50 cents while continuing public service.

Wallage Judge Denies The Hecla Injunction

Judge A H Featherstone denied the injunction requested by Eugene R Day and Mrs Sarah K E Smith to stop Hecla Mining and Bunker Hill from submitting their Star mine purchase for stockholder ratification. The order cites another Spokane county suit pending, denying the injunction without prejudice and without ruling on merits. North Idaho Officers: C M Johnson and George Champagne elected vice president and secretary treasurer, with G W Dougherty, James A Hoff man and John H Nordquist on the board. Lucky Jim and Rex mines owned, no immediate development planned.

New Owners Take Over Little Metcalf Lease

Charles Haff Charles Couch and Samuel Turnbull three miners have purchased the Standard mine lease from Harold Little and J A Metcalf. Since taking over they shipped a carload of ore estimated 40 percent lead and 40 ounces of silver. The trio expect a revived ore shoot and potential gains similar to the previous fortune made by the former lessees.

Mayer Will Go East On Mining Venture Move

Mayer, manager of Wilson Mining & Smelting, traveled from Saltese and plans to depart soon to secure funds for expanding Silver Creek property three miles from Saltese. A crosscut started last summer reaches 570 feet and aims to hit the vein within 150 feet at about 700 feet depth. Lead-silver stringers found in the crosscut and strong surface showing suggest a commercial ore shoot when the vein is reached.

Water difficulties eased at Coeur d Alene Syndicate

Rush J. White manager reports heavy water flow delaying operations has diminished and ground conditions are improving toward normal. Water still present but progress resumes with less likelihood of further delays, though heavy seasonal rain could alter conditions.

Clean-up squad to meet ex service men here Saturday

Government aims to promptly settle World War I claims and provide medical care and training. Veterans Bureau team will visit Wallace on Saturday October 29 for one day to record cases and advise veterans, with Dr J Z Green and W C Lee leading the effort.
