Neversweat project near Gorge gulch advances underground work

Neversweat, outside work by Inland Empire company at Burke nears completion. Machinery is being installed to sink the shaft 200 feet deeper under the direction of E. G. Gnaedinger. A headframe, hoist building, electric hoist, compressor room, and drill sharpener are installed or arriving. The shaft of 100 feet depth has yielded several inches of lead-silver ore and will be sunk further to explore the new vein.

Silver Reef resumes underground work on promising vein

Josiah Hill of Kellogg, organizer and chief stockholder of Hill Mining and Milling, said work is advancing in the upper tunnel of the Hill property and the vein should be cut in 30 to 40 feet. The plan then shifts to the lower tunnel to reach 300 feet deeper with good chances of ore. The Hill property lies on the Osburn fault, adjoining East Caledonia, with the strongest ore showings near the 400 level toward the Hill end.
