Annual Banquet of the Wallace Board of Trade

The Wallace board of trade held its annual banquet at Banquet restaurant last Tuesday, drawing over 200 attendees including Kellogg representatives and Callahan Zinc-Lead directors. The evening featured orchestral and vocal music, a brief business session, and speeches.

Federal Dividend Declared by Federal Mining & Smelting

New York announces a regular quarterly dividend of 14 cents per share totaling 150000 dollars, payable December 15 to holders of record November 28. Preferred stock dividends total 17705966 dollars, common 2705750 dollars, with overall dividends paid at 19784716 dollars. The Morning mine at Mullin is the principal asset, with Independence at Halley and three zinc mines Brewster Lucky O K and Farmington in Oklahoma. A station at the Morning is nearing completion at 2250 level and a shaft sinking contract of 200 feet is anticipated.

Amazon-Dixie Mining Set for Mill as Ore Body Expands

Reports from the Amazon-Dixie indicate a sizeable milling ore body with a drift extending 200 feet west on the 1500 level and a 15 foot wide ore shot. The vein shows bright cube galena with copper chalcopyrite, and management plans call for a mill and underground upgrades to place the mine into production. Wesley Everett, manager, will confer with stockholders to plan future operations as the site nears productive status.

C and R Company Extends Crosscut 150 Feet Near Sunset Mine

Last Tuesday Sam Hammer a district miner and World War veteran was awarded a contract by the C and R Mining Company to extend the crosscut south 150 feet. The project is underway with strong belief of reaching the long sought ore body. the C and R is located east of the Sunset mine and likely on the same vein.

Silver Range Mining plans resuming development work soon

K. M. Burt, manager of the Silver Range Mining company, returned after months away and reports the Silver Range group of claims lies east of the Galena and spans the west fork of Placer creek. Hecla Hoist To Sink 200 Feet Deeper At Mine Level 2000

Hecla Mining plans to sink the main shaft 200 feet further and open a new level 2000 feet below the current bottom, where the Hecta ore shoot remains rich. A 160-horsepower single-drum electric hoist from Coeur d Alene Hardware will be installed on the 2000 level with 5000 pound rope pull capacity and 900 feet per minute rope speed, powered by a 2200 volt three-phase motor and GE equipment. The project aims to extend profitable operations despite deeper depths and deteriorating neighboring ore.
