The Tamarack and Custer Consolidated Mining Co plans a highline to dump ore directly into the mill bins at Frisco and may connect No 6 tunnel to reach the Tamarack mine. Federal Mining and Smelting is said to have agreed, enabling larger tonnage and shifting workers toward the canyon and Wallace.

Theory of flotation subject of bulletin soon to be issued

Elk Creek Contract Drives Florence Mining Vein Hope

Sam Tennall arrived from Elk Creek where he worked this winter for Florence Mining Company. A 100 foot crosscut contract is underway and another 100 foot run is planned, aiming to reach a vein predicted to emerge where surface shows strong. The Florence vein lies about 800 feet farther, with a similar surface indication near Elk Creek Resnol, two miles from the railroad.

Mining layoffs trim district payroll in gold and lead mines

About 2000 to 2500 workers remain active as Hercules and Tamarack suspend production. Hecla Morning and Bunker Hill Sullivan keep operating with roughly 2000 workers plus 500 more in small mines, mills, and developments.
