Sunshine Company Discovers Rich Ore Body at Price Tunnel

Sunshine Mining Company reports a major ore find in its Price tunnel area on Big Creek. After years of faulted ground, a 10 foot wide vein yielded galena and gray copper with high-grade pockets. The drift and stopes now show 70 feet of ore, with a 45 ton daily mill feed and plans for a ball mill addition to boost processing capacity.

Tuscumbia Directors Meet in City and Levy Asses ment

George May and D. J. Whaley of Stevenaville Montana, presidents of Tuscumbia Mining, attended a directors meeting with Morton Webster and A. A. Whaley of Wallace. A 4 mill assessment was levied to pay debts and support limited development. Ore has been shipped from the Tuscumbia operation on Sunset slopes, adjacent to Idora Portland and West Sunset. The Toughnut ore shoot from Shine project appears to extend into Tuscumbia.

Copper King Company Explores B16 Ore Body

The Copper King Mining company at Mullan awarded a contract to Diamond Drill Contracting of Spokane for 1200 feet of diamond drill work. The property near Burke shows a fissure vein with ore 1 to 3 feet wide over 250 feet, after 1901 development, prior options failed, 10,000 tons mined earlier, and current drilling targets the 750 feet of exposed ore to resume extensive mining if successful.

Local Oil Company Plans Shelby Sunburst Field Holdings

Articles of incorporation for Van Oil & Gas to be filed soon. Promoted by residents of Wal lace Kellogg and Burke, the firm will operate as a Shoshone county entity taking over and drilling on a 320 acre tract in the Shelby Sunburst field. The field shows rapid production with wells nearby and a 6000 barrel well cited.

Prospecting Result At Revenue Gulch Shows Promise

Jesse Freeman and H. W. Edwards, controlling owners of the U S Copper Mining company, have gone to Sanders county Montana to perform annual assessment work on the group of claims. They report that recent prospecting east of the Climax on Revenue Gulch has developed a showing that Freeman calls decidedly satisfactory.

Plan to Route Highway Through Town Business District

Wallace visit details a possible plan to let the highway pass through the town business area. Mr Hall expects to return in about two weeks with B J Finch district engineer for the U S bureau of public roads to resolve questions and prevent delays in beginning construction.

Sunset Lease and Snowbound Ore Haul to Spur Summer Shipments

A. C. Bachman at the Sunset mine reports seven to eight carloads of ore awaiting shipment once the snow on the Sunset road melts. Heavy ice blocks the route north of the peak, delaying transport to the Bunn loading station at Nine Mile forks. Bachman, assisted by an aide, spent winter underground but plans to install a compressor and secure power from the Washington Water Power Co to accelerate operations.

Fourth of July funds and committees debated at board meeting

The board of trade discussed forthcoming Fourth of July funds with the baseball committee unsure of prize money. A finance committee member projected over $1000 for the celebration. Great Bunker Hill Annual Report 1922 mines profits rise

The 1922 annual report of Bunker Hill & Sullivan Mining and Concentrating Co shows production nearly steady with higher lead prices boosting earnings.
