The mines rescue car purchased by local operating companies has arrived. It will be overhauled and equipped with modern devices for rescue work and first aid training. Directed by K. T. Sparks the engineer in charge, it will be stationed in War and ready to move to any district mine when needed.

Marsh finds vein outlook good for ore
J W Pohlman director and F Cushing Moore engineer visited the Marsh Mines from Spokane to inspect recent development. They reported a ten foot wide vein on the east side of the fault with four feet heavily mineralized and two feet quartz and iron carbonate, indicating potential ore in the drift eastward as development continues in tunnel No 3 of the Hecla vein.

N P Will Continue All Local Trains In Wallace and Canyon
Local rail service between Wallace and Burke and Wallace and Mullan will not be discontinued. HT Strachan, of the special committee on train service, announced after confirmation from Northern Pacific officials. Public sentiment against cutting trains, including petitions signed by over 500 canyon residents, influenced the decision. The board of trade will resume talks when committee members return.
