Review of mining first six months
Review of mining in Idaho for the first half of 1921 notes continued operation at several mines despite low metal prices. Empire Copper at Mackay ships about 800 tons monthly, Salmond mines in Lemhi may resume later, and major producers like Bunker Hill Morning Hecla and Tamarack kept running. Zinc output rose from 1919 to 1920, but no zinc shipments occurred in early 1921 due to market weakness. plans for an electrolytic zinc plant at Star mine offer potential future gains. Dividends were paid early in 1921 by Federal, Bunker Hill & Sullivan, Hecla, Tamarack & Custer, and Caledonia.
