Ore in the west drift from the winze at the Western Union mine shows stronger output than ever, reports manager Hen L. Collins. June shipments totaled 27 712 dollars gross and 21 127 66 net, lifting year total to 111 733 65 gross and 76 999 27 net. Two cars from No 4 level yielded 11 861 83 gross and 9 256 62 net. Bunker-Chance Plans Vein Development in Wardner District
The Bunker-Chance Mining Company has completed plans to develop the Butler vein in Wardner. It recently acquired six claims north of the Sullivan side of the Bunke r Hill and Sullivan property and south of the Iron Block rein. The vein yielded rich silver ore in shallow workings and 4 carloads shipped to the smelter long ago produced over 200 ounces per ton. The new company will mine at 500 feet depth and is arranging electrical power and equipment to advance the work.
