Appraisers filed a probate court report on the Eugene Kr Day estate detailing a 75 page schedule of real and personal property totaling 1 764 052 51. The document notes missing public holdings in Tamarack Custer, Coeur d Alene Hardware, Wallace Powder and Hecla Mining, with the widow Agnes Loretta Day contesting the estate while offering a quarter share. A gray copper ore specimen from the Polaris is exhibited at the J F Howarth company office. Taken by leasers from a stope above the main tunnel, it is estimated to contain several hundred ounces of silver. The leasers expect a carload ready for shipment soon.

Vein at Columbus Crosscut Shows Six Feet of Milling Ore

Victor Carlson reports a six foot wide high grade milling ore vein exposed by a crosscut near East Eagle Creek. Samples show shipping grade ore with galena and copper, quartz appearing to carry gold. Assays to confirm and plans set to explore the vein at depth.

Tarbox Directors Plan Resumption Of Operations Soon

Directors of Tarbox Mining Company will meet next Tuesday at 4:00 PM after inspection of the mine surface plant water right and south vein to discuss early resumption plans. Hundreds of Visitors to Wallace for Republican Convention

Wallace and Shoshone county host a large Republican state convention next Tuesday with 202 delegates. Gov. Davie and state officers will attend along with reporters from Idaho and neighboring states, drawing an estimated 350 to 400 visitors. Delegates will tour local mines and mills, while Wallace welcomes guests with a formal program and band, and local businesses urged to decorate and showcase hospitality.

Mining Engineers visit Coeur d Alenes adoped at Mullan

A Republican platform meeting at Mullan adopts a local platform while outlining a two day visit by mining engineers to Coeur d Alene on September 18 to 19 as they travel to the American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers convention in San Francisco. Sunset Road Repair Underway After Washout

Gus Ellars road supervisor for the district oversees a crew fixing Sunset road from Rex to the old Callahan road after a washout. Completion is expected in a few days before leasers on Sunset bring in a compressor rails and other equipment.

Reindeer Queen Lease May Prove Value of Property

Henry C. Jessen secured a two year lease of 1000 feet along the Reindeer Queen drift with rights 2000 feet above and below tunnel level and 200 feet each side. Four men worked 25 shifts monthly after upscaling from two, with a 200 foot shaft unwatered and a power rig in use. A test run yielded ore over 16 percent copper with silver covering production costs, and 1916 shipments from the Reindeer vein returned 15 percent copper and 2 ounces of silver per ton. A new streak near the shaft shows bornite with chalcopyrite, assaying above 10 percent copper. The lease may demonstrate the property’s great potential in the region.

Annual Miners Picnic Kellogg August 19 20

Arrangements are complete for Kellogg's annual miners picnic on August 19 and 20. The program includes a 10 AM music and lectures with Dr. M. Marvin, Northwest expert on industrial conditions. Sports feature log sawing with $100 first prize, $50 second, plus races and climbing events. Sunday offers a Wallace vs Kellogg ball game and aircraft flights over the city. Delegations from Wallace, Mullan, the canyon and North Side are expected.

Great meeting in Shoshone County backs election law stance

Republicans of Shoshone county met at Mullan to elect fourteen delegates to the state convention in Wallace on August 23. They endorsed the present election law, opposing a move to direct primaries, and instructed local legislators to resist any repeal or weakening of the law. Delegates from all districts, including two women, were chosen and committees appointed for organization, business, platform, and resolutions.
