Hecla mine uses new electric pump to lower water
Pumps on the 1 1000 levels could not keep pace as water rose above the 2000 level. A powerful electric pump in the stopes above 2000 was installed this week and ran 24 hours. Superintendent L. E. Hanley said water dropped 6 feet 3 inches, seen as satisfactory progress. If needed, a second pump may speed unwatering. Cleanup of wreckage and excavation for the main building proceed well.

Galena Shaft Deepens as East Drift Extension Advances
