L C Stark argues from U S census data that apple production rose little from 1899 to 1909 while crop value surged, urging farmers to plant commercial orchards. He notes declines in bearing trees, regional production shifts, and rising grape and cider outputs, framing improved marketing and quality as money makers.

The potato growers of this section are urged to attend the annual convention in Marquette Michigan October 28 to 30 1915. Exhibits travel free on the Chicago North Western and Chicago Milwaukee & St Paul if freight is prepaid and receipts sent to the convention secretary at Marquette. The Marquette Commercial Club offers 500.07 in premiums. After the congress potatoes will go to the State National Congress in Grand Rapids December 1 2. Potatoes rot at high rates but dipping seed in formaldehyde reduces decay and disease. The county agricultural agent has promoted this practice. The text notes hunting from automobiles is illegal.
