Count Frederick leads Gretzhoffen forces in a decisive frontline defense after a daring plan to hide troops within the town. As the royal reserves arrive, the Grahoffen assault falters and Frederick is wounded but saved by a quick-thinking Kitty Gray. The battle turns as Frederick surveys the front and proclaims victory with his troops broken and routed attackers.
Roleau, separated from his lover and pursued through Grahoffen, uses the royal yacht to flee. Cortislaw and Count Sachio contend that the Gretzhoffen treasure halves hold a hidden riddle. The missing coin halves and the prisoner Rolean intensify the chase as Roleau boards the king’s yacht with a payment for passage.
Roleau awakens to dawn as the yacht departs. A small, loosely guarded group retreats from Grahoffen palace while Count Sachie questions officials and prisoners in a hurried search for the escaped spy Roleau.
In a tense pursuit across Grahoffen, Roleau escapes guards and is hunted by Cortislaw and Count Sachio. An aircraft under Count Frederick and a mysterious woman lures the pursuers, revealing Roleau’s location as the yacht carrying Gretzhofen’s coin nears harbor. The craft descends to rescue Roleau, and the scene closes with a perilous ascent.
