The Wakefield city proclamation invites Genebie County residents to the Grand Opening of the Wakefield Memorial Community Building on April 5 and 6, with programs by the American Legion post, Woman's and Girl's Clubs, a 100 player cast in The Glorious Girl, a ten piece orchestra, a midnight luncheon, and dancing at the Banquet Hall. Tickets, free for all, issued by City Clerk William Jacobson, allow choose-your-night admission for those over 16.

Wakefield mayor and longtime county supervisor chairman was elected to the board of directors of the Upper Peninsula Development Bureau at its annual meeting near Marquette. Senator W. P. Truetiner of Bessemer was reelected as a director. Attendees represented every county north of the straits.
