Peters Quarry Aims for 380000 Rock Yards This Summer
W S Peters reports more than 7000 yards of rock in stock at his quarry north of town for summer road work. He estimates about 380000 yards will be ready before spring to continue several road contracts. For the Tula road, drainage tiles will be laid to curb spreading and settling. Peters expects completion late in July if weather favors. He employs about 30 men and notes the plant will serve contractors and builders beyond the Two road job. Plans include a railroad spur from the old Pike mine to load rock directly to cars. Track to Morgan mine nearing completion with ballasting and a 40 ton steam shovel to be set up next week. Operators likely start at the mine in early February. Also, First National Bank re-elected Anton Ringsmuth as president and kept the same board of directors including William S Peters.
