Miss Letha Cornelia Shepherd and Geo W Rows were married this afternoon at 4 p m in a home ceremony on the lawn beneath a floral archway. The bride wore white taffeta and lace, with maid of honor and bridesmaids in pink silk, and guests filled the lawn for the reception and buffet lunch. The couple will honeymoon in Dows Iowa, then establish a home on Seventh street in the Vincent property.

A well attended declamatory contest held at the State Science School last Wednesday evening featured Lillian Brothers winning first place and Isabelle Schuler taking second. Thursday evening Congressman Marshall gave an address on Denatured Alcohol as a large crowd enjoyed two selections by the town orchestra.

In the Rustad and Kresse case the bankruptcy judge Amidon presided as trustees were elected Geo A Wallace of Wahpeton. Creditors including Richland county farmers Merchants National Bank Fargo and non resident creditors heard a settlement offer of 00 cents per dollar, with attorneys Stammbaugh Hardy Pierce Tenneson and Glassford Lacey representing parties. A second note reports the marriage of Lillian Minter and L S Proctor in Breckenridge. typhoid illness forced the ceremony to occur immediately at the bride's home with Rev Father Ridder officiating. Proctor was hospitalized later that day. remarks voiced goodwill for a happy union.

The twenty fourth annual convention and tournament of North Dakota firemen will be held in Oakes on June 25 with rifle shooting memorial services and multiple contests. Delegates include city officials and fire company members. events feature hose races, ladder, hose tests, and baseball with cash prizes and a silver loving cup. The program spans Thursday with a reception and dance at the opera house.

Members attending the Hillsboro North Dakota convention were royally entertained. The new court house was dedicated with Gov. Burke Mayor Ames and State Supt Stockwell speaking. A flag was presented to the public school by the North Dakota W R C. Miz Bettie Cooch of Lisbon delivered the speech. Officers were elected for the coming year and local ladies were named for next meeting at Valley City.
