Married in Belmond on December 20, 1883, they moved here 45 years ago and raised two daughters and three sons. Friday night at Grace Van Eman’s home the Pythian Sister and Past Chief club hosted a Christmas and farewell party for Miss Priscilla Booth with Mrs. A. L. Canfield assisting. Miss Irene Kohl held a bridge gathering Friday night at Archie Bixby home to honor Miss Priscilla Booth who departs December 27 for Bozeman Montana to take a new job. Two tables played with Miss Lois Inman winning high score and Mrs. Charles Robinson taking consolation. A two course luncheon featured tall red tapers and a buttered sweet bowl. Booth received a gift. Attendees included Miss Lois Inman Mrs. C. H. Miller Mrs. Buena Merron Mrs. Charles Robinson Mrs. Archie Bixby and Miss Ruby Hemmingson.

Mrs. A. H. Meyer was elected president of the Ladies Aid at Estherville Lutheran church during a Thursday meeting. Mrs. K. K. Nau became vice president and Harold Reed was chosen secretary, with treasurer to be named later. A brief Christmas program followed before a luncheon served by local members. Priscilla Booth departs Friday for Bozeman Mont to start a department store job January 2, traveling with her brother George who will visit relatives in LaPlante, S Dak en route.

Mrs Bert Twite hosted a surprise birthday for daughter LaVonne as she turned eleven with a large gathering including Levatson, Peterson, Logan, Eliffson, Cordes, Olson, Resh, Hanson, Berg and Freer families. Visits featured E J Maniece, state representative, and Jamie Kasa of Estherville. District 10 school hosted a Pie social with Lena Gunderson as teacher. Mrs Chester Paulson is ill with mumps. Allan Hersleff recovering post surgery, son also ill with tonsillitis. Several families traveled from Estherville Superior South Pasadena for weekend visits.
