A long letter from 1885 Florida recounts hunting and trapping a colossal snake. The narrator describes tying a lunch gathering to a prank, finding a snake three times longer than a stove pipe, and shocking friends when a horse hidden inside its midsection tumbled out alive.

Entertainment at Mayor Lashley’s home hosted by the Baptist church Missionary Society drew a large crowd. Supper profits of 17.40 funded purchases for Missionary families, with music by the Views Orchestra enhancing an enjoyable social evening.
An advertisement praises DeWitts Witch Hazel Salve as the world’s largest selling salve. It warns against counterfeiters and urges buyers to seek the genuine product from Dr. C T Stovall.
Public outcry sale on October 21 1898 at the county court house to settle a secured debt of 808 78 principal and 16 16 interest plus costs under a December 4 1897 mortgage by Nancy Cobb to Mayer Watts Co The property includes a spring buggy and parts of land in districts ixed 98 and 99 with pay due February 1898 and eight percent interest plus two percent attorney fees DeWitt's Little Early Risers pills are advertised by Dr O L Stovall

A short insurance advertisement touts fire coverage and urges patronage for D. L. Henderson & Co. The copy cites reputable companies such as North British and Mercantile, Liverpool, London and Globe, Pennsylvania, Hartford and the Insurance Company of North America to reassure customers after a dwelling fire.

The property is 1524 acres off lot 249 in the 2nd district in Dooly county, consisting of most of the lot with two square and corner exclusions. A lot described as 147 unimproved and unreturned for taxation remains unpaid for 1895 with seven percent interest from December 20, 1895. Levy not made. sale to satisfy this fi fa and costs by law. An advertisement for DeWitts Little Early Risers pills credits Dr C T Stovall and claims the remedy is pleasant thorough and cures constipation and sick headache as surely as they are taken. It portrays the product as an easy dependable laxative for common ailments.
In Dooly County a notice warns that unless a good erga is shown a road will be granted on October 2 by the road commissioners from Mrs. Virginian Lewis residence along the district line between the 10th and 14th districts to Cork's Ferry. Also, a twelve month support hearing for the widow Adelia A. Herrington and five minor children is set for September 24 after a report by executors and heirs.
