In a rainday mixup at the Dooly Lumber Co mill Judge Henderson Priday heard De Kid charged with larceny from the house. He wore another man’s coat by mistake and was found guilty. Prosecutor Col Waters Powell and defense Col Harvard argued. He received 10 months on the chain gang and a fines totaling 850000 plus costs.

Killed on the Track in Montezuma Tragedy
Mr. J. W. Bond of Drayton Georgia died after being struck by a locomotive while intoxicated and lying on the railroad track Friday night near Montezuma. He never regained consciousness and passed away Saturday morning. Bond, known as Lish, was a respected soldier and much mourned by Drayton and Dooly County residents who offered condolences to his family.

Shooting Affray at Richwood Church Sunday
News reports a Sunday School disturbance at Richwood Church where Superintendent R D Smith reproved two youths, Joe Smith and Ed Arrington. The pair argued, cursing ensued, and Arrington accidentally shot Joe Smith in the thigh while a bullet grazed Smith’s hip. warrants issued Monday with no arrests yet.
